About

There are at least two ways of describing me: I am an artist who loves technology…or a technician who loves art. Both would be true. This blog is dedicated to the growing interaction between art, technology and design. I hope you enjoy the articles and images.

People often ask me where I came up with the title, Function 13. Thirteen has always been my lucky number, but it’s much more than that.

I wish the explanation was more glamorous, The truth is, I love to program and my first introduction to Linux was with IBM’s PowerLinux. This is where the name Function 13 comes from.

“This function displays a system reference code (SRC) on the control panel to serve as a diagnostic aid that helps you determine the source of a hardware or operating system problem.”

Computer generated art is my forte. I also collaborate with other artists who need programming skills. I have had many gallery exhibitions. I am involved in the art communities all over Canada.

My wife is a textile artist. We live together in a quaint flat with our young son, Ethan. You can find me hanging out on
